GEORGE WALPER, JR.
Walper brings to clients more than 30 years of experience serving the high net worth and retirement services markets. His specific emphasis is product development, marketing, sales and client service. Prior to joining Spectrem, Walper was Senior Vice President at Harris Trust and Savings Bank, where he oversaw the bank's Institutional Trust business, and earlier was a Trust Officer at The Northern Trust.
Walper has a bachelor's degree in business from the State University of New York College at Buffalo and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Within the financial services industry, Walper is a well-known figure and frequent speaker at industry events. He has presented at the American Bankers' Association Wealth Management and Trust Conference, the American Bankers' Association Retirement Services Conference, the SourceMedia Annual Wealth Management Forum, seminars by the Wealth Advisors' Institute and a host of client events. During her tenure at Spectrem, McBreen has helped clients enter new markets, assisted them in forming strategic alliances and partnerships, implemented Internet strategies and designed various distribution strategies. An attorney by training, McBreen has used her industry and legal knowledge to analyze mutual fund complexes, design distribution practices and develop products and strategies for the high net worth and personal trust markets. Prior to joining Spectrem, McBreen was a senior attorney and Vice President and Product Manager for Harris Trust and Savings Bank.
McBreen has a B.S. in speech communications from Northwestern University and a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
Well-known for her expertise in the affluent and retirement arenas, McBreen is a frequent speaker at client events as well as industry conferences including the Private Asset Management (Institutional Investor Wealth Management Forum), Financial Advisor Magazine's Annual Financial Advisor Symposium and the International Business Forum (Pension & Investments 401(k) Conference). Tom Wynn works as a Director with Spectrem Group and manages their syndicated program dealing with the Ultra High Net Worth and Affluent studies.
Prior to joining Spectrem, Tom served as a sales specialist for a major bank service company. Here he worked with financial institutions to facilitate cost-effective management through the use of market research and database marketing techniques and products. Previously, he was Market Research Manager for a large multi-state bank holding company. In this role he conducted over 100 research studies utilizing mail surveys, phone surveys, focus groups and panel research. He was responsible for the development and analysis of programs targeted towards the bank’s most profitable customers.
Tom’s area of expertise includes market research and customer analysis, data mining, sales forecasting, demographic analysis and database administration. He is equally adept at product planning, development, customer support and promotion.
He has BS degrees from Utah State University in Business Administration and Geography.
Randy Wostratzky is the Director of Business Development. He has been working with Spectrem clients for over 8 years, helping financial services companies leverage Spectrem's primary and custom research capabilities to ensure they are meeting the needs and expectations of investors across the country.
Before joining Spectrem, Randy worked for First American Bank, based in Elk Grove, Illinois. Prior to his work at First American, Randy was a Managing Equities Trader at Spike Trading, a proprietary futures and equities trading firm based in Chicago.
Randy received a bachelor of the arts in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004, and received his MBA from the Liautaud Graduate School of Business at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2010 with a specialization in finance.
Kathy Dordick is a Senior Consultant with the Spectrem Group. Kathy is responsible for both the creation and analysis of Spectrem’s syndicated research, perspectives and custom research projects. She is instrumental in analyzing data, creating in-depth strategies, incorporating first-hand industry knowledge and providing comprehensive recommendations for clients to implement.
Prior to joining Spectrem, Kathy worked for many years as a Financial Advisor, working with a large variety of wealthy clients. She also worked as a research analyst in quantitative and qualitative institutional research. Kathy also spent a number of years running a home healthcare business, managing every aspect of running the company, including hiring, staffing, training, recruiting, sales, marketing, payroll, AR/AP, P&L, budgeting and forecasting.
Dordick has been the recipient of several awards and distinctions throughout her career, including “Top Pacesetter”, “Above and Beyond”, “Best Practices”, “Rookie of the Year”, and “Star Performer”. Kathy has been a speaker at various investor and advisor conferences and has an in-depth knowledge of the financial markets. She previously held Series 7, 66, 3, 31 and insurance licenses. Kathy studied Business Communications at Northern Illinois University and is in the process of obtaining her MBA from DePaul University.
Kathy’s areas of expertise include data analysis, report writing, custom research development, research methodology and understanding the implications of Spectrem’s research as it relates to the financial services world. She is also adept at client service and uniquely understands the complex needs of the advisory industry from first-hand experience.
Away from the office, Kathy is heavily involved in her community and various charitable events including Relay for Life, National M.S. Society bike rides, American Cancer Society walks, the Lupus Foundation and March of Dimes March for Babies. Kathy also spends a great deal of time volunteering in various capacities and watching different activities and sporting events her three daughters participate in.
Carey Runyard works as a Consultant with the Spectrem Group. Carey is responsible for both the creation and the analysis of Spectrem's syndicated research and custom research projects. She is instrumental in analyzing data, creating in-depth strategies, and providing comprehensive recommendations for clients to implement.
Prior to joining Spectrem, Carey worked as a corporate training consultant for a regional bank. Here she provided training on systems and customer service to employees in the bank branch roles. Previously, she held a variety of positions within the bank, including licensed personal banker and supervisor of a drive-thru branch.
Carey's area of expertise includes data analysis, report writing, project report production, research methodology, and the understanding of implications of Spectrem's research as it relates to the financial services world. She is adept at client service and support.
She holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin.
Eric McDonald works as a Consultant with the Spectrem Group. Eric is responsible for both the creation and the analysis of Spectrem's perspectives and custom research projects. He is instrumental in analyzing data, creating in-depth strategies, and providing comprehensive recommendations for clients to implement.
Prior to joining Spectrem, Eric worked as an account manager for George T. Schmidt. Here he was responsible for the day-to-day management of the company accounts. Previously, he was a high school history teacher and coach.

He holds a B.A. in History and Communications from Lake Forest College.
