September 21, 2015 Fact of the Day: How Often Do DC Participants Use Their Tablet?
Did you know that almost 70 percent of retirement plan participants currently have a tablet or e-reader and they spend more than 10 hours each week using the tablet for seeking information...not just checking email, texts or other communications.
In a research report recently released by Spectrem Group, entitled Using Social Media and Mobile Technology in Financial Decisions, part of the DC Participant Insight Series, it was found that participants between the ages of 35-49 use their tablets for more than 12 hours each week. Female participants use their tablets for research more than males at 11 hours weekly compared to 8.5 hours for men. The size of one's plan balance doesn't seem to impact one's time spent researching information on a tablet.
