June 29, 2015 Fact of the Day: Which social media platform are investors using?
As more people across the United States continue to embrace various types of social media, one can only help but wonder what type of social media is being used, what it’s being used for, and who is using it.
Did you know that among those with between $100,000 and $1 million in net worth, not including primary residence, 67% are using Facebook and 16% are using Twitter. These numbers are even more substantial among those who are age 35 and younger, with 89% of the sub-35 group using Facebook and 1/3 of them on twitter.
For financial service providers, you must not ignore these platforms as a way to distribute your content and market your services to the next generation of potential clients. Ignoring these communication channels now will only make it seem like you either don’t know how to resonate with younger investors, or you just don’t care. Take it from me, as someone who is “just barely” in the age range that one would consider to be a Millennial…..if you don’t have a presence on Facebook or Twitter….you don’t have my business.
